The Musical Museum in West London, have a library of recordings and a collection of instruments that were at the height of popularity and mass production in the 1910s and 1920s. We seek to bring to life these aspects of our collections in the First World War centenary remembrance.
A small selection of instruments from the Museum will be displayed in The Hub, accompanied by a tour guide, who will talk about the instruments and play samples of the music of the period. Participants will have the unique opportunity to sketch the instruments and ask questions. The team at The Musical Museum then hope to record some responses, ideally on film, so that a short video can be produced and displayed at a new audio visual station at the Museum.
