It’s Not Your Birthday But are seeking words or artworks that respond to the ideas of sleepless nights and nocturnal offerings.
As part of our Lost Letters Heritage Project INYBB have launched an Open Call for creative works from artists and writers of all ages, as well as a seperate category for Young Creatives (11-25 years) with prizes of £750, exhibition opportunities, high street vouchers and exclusive archive adventures to be won.
Taking inspiration from Frank Baker’s restless conflicted letter, penned at 3am to his love Isabel in 1939 after and ambiguous encounter, we are calling for works that explore the things that keep us up or come to us in the middle of the night.
What swims in our psyche after dark that must be expressed?
What are you called to say or create with urgency at 3am?
What stirs us from slumber or reached us in hazy moonlit interludes?
We welcome submissions from writers and artists across a broad spectrum of disciplines and experience. We are seeking high quality, engaging work that clearly responds to the brief. Entry is free of charge.
Deadline: Monday 28th June 2021, 10am.
